About
What
Racial wellness speaks to the practices we weave into our lives to tend to the effects that racism has on the wellbeing of Black, Indigenous, people of color, and white folks. Making the Body a Home believes that cultivating racial wellness in our internal environments is essential.
Why
Interior Race Theory explores how the items we interact with in our home can impact our racialized values, thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors. Using this framework, Making the Body a Home explores the possibility that we can design our internal spaces to help us resist a racially unwell society.
How
Making the Body a Home designs décor, objects, and tools such as paper goods, ceramics, art, and textiles that stimulate racial wellness in the interior environment.
